Performance Tracing Report Assistant (PeTRA)
PeTRA is an ad hoc reporting tool for the Information Trails assessment framework first developed by Loh in 2007.4
The reporting tool converts learners’ play data (in real-time) using data visualization techniques and presents the information via a user-friendly interface to trainers, learners, and administrators – so they too can understand what the data means without having to call on a data analyst.
The line on the ‘map’ (which changes depending on the game environment) indicates movements and the dots depict game events. As the players make decisions in the game, their decisions are captured and translated into behavioral data, which can then be used for debriefing (peer– or self-evaluation).
