Research Study Announcement (effec­tive October 1, 2010):

Performance Tracing using 3D Virtual Environment

You have heard about 3D virtual environ­ment! Here’s an oppor­tu­nity for you to experi­ence cutting edge technol­ogy in experi­enc­ing immer­sive 3D virtual gaming environment.

We have created the “Guardian’s Adventure” game module, and would like you to test your wits against the game! (The module is created using Neverwinter Nights 2 (v 1.23) at TEEN rating.)

If you are between 18 and 50 years old, feel free to contact the researchers to arrange for a game session.

Purpose of the Research:

To measure players’ perfor­mance and strate­gies in solving problem and spatial naviga­tion in a 3D virtual environ­ment for the purpose of digital game-based learning.

Providing Consent

This is a research project and you are required to provide your consent before partic­i­pa­tion by the Human Subject Committee (HSC).

Confidentiality: Participants will not be identi­fied directly in this research. We cannot guaran­tee anonymity, only confidentiality.

Participation: Participation in this research is completely volun­tary. No compen­sa­tion or grade points will be awarded in this study.
